Since the very beginning, my goal has been to leave the world a little better than how I found it through promoting ‘Refuse if you cannot Reuse.’ The aim of this is to help eliminate single-use plastics and influence people to change their use and throw attitudes.⠀
My intentions have remained steady, but in order to achieve them, I set small and relatively easy targets. I started my crusade against single-use plastics by setting a modest target of eliminating 50,000 plastic straws in 3 months. I ended up beating this target by over 250,000 plastic straws within the first 2 weeks. Soon I expanded my campaign to target reduction of all single-use plastic items. In the past 2 years, I’ve helped remove over 26 million plastic straws and a few million other single-use plastic items from consumption.
