Microplastics have become a concerning presence in our food supply, infiltrating even the most basic ingredients we consume daily. Only recently, according to a February 2024 study, up to ninety per cent of protein samples contained tiny polymer fragments, some as small as 1/25,000th of an inch.

But the contamination doesn’t stop there.

These tiny particles, invisible to the naked eye, are making their way into our diets, raising serious concerns about their impact on human health.

Read more to discover the extent of this contamination and what it means for the safety of the food we consume every day.
